Fun Day 4/6

Hi! Mckenna and Marie-Grace here. Guess what we found!!! A story Abbie wrote!!! So we thought we would share it with you!! It does take place at Christmas so bear with us. :)

The Greatest Gift!

By Abbie Wagner

Part 1

The Christmas Season was upon me, though it wasn’t my favorite time of the year. There was the so much to do before the Christmas Party that was held every year at my house. Every thing needed to be cleaned, and the house decorated in festive colors. The holiday cookies and candies must be made, and the dinner needed to be prepared. Then there was the Christmas shopping. I sighed and leaned against the door frame, staring into the living room that didn’t look the least bit festive. I tried to imagine how it would look with the tree in the corner and the tensile hanging around, but try as I might I couldn’t picture it at all. I turned and went upstairs to the attic where the decorations were stored and returned with three boxes of decorations.
Four hours later I stepped back to admirer my handy work. The tree stood smarty in the corner of the living room with snowmen setting everywhere. The stair banister had a garland wrapped around it and the dinning room table had a pretty red and green tablecloth on it. A writhe hung on the door and everything shined from the polish I used. Just then my stomach growled and I glanced at my watch. 1:13. No wander I was hungry! I went to the kitchen and made myself a sandwich. As I was eating it I remembered the turkey had to be put in to cook. I went to the freezer and looked in. No turkey!!!! Opps silly me I hadn’t gone shopping yet! After I finished my sandwich I put my coat and hat on and left for the store.
Snow was falling softly as I drove through town. The shops where decorated with reds and greens as Christmas was only a week away. I pulled up in front of the toy store, this was the first stop. I had quite a few nieces and nephews to buy for. When I finely got done shopping for toys I went to the grocery store to buy the turkey.

So what do you think of the first part? There will be a second and maybe even a third!! So check back next week to see part 2!!

Carefully over lap the strips and lay aside. Repeat last 2 steps.

Now take one of your large strips and lay sticky side up.

Trim the edges straight.

And fold one side so that there is about 2 inches from the top.

The Farming Report 4/3

Hi again. Matt here with The Farming Report. Todays subject is...

Onions!!

Onions belong to the lily family, along with leeks, garlic, scallions, and chives.

It's sulfur compounds that give onions their pungent smell and cause the eyes to water. Some of these sulfur compounds give onions an anti-bacterial quality against such nasty invaders as e coli.

Some home remedies offer onion paste as a treatment for insect stings and acne.

Onions are a rich source of antioxidants, which help prevent cancer, and flavonoids, which help prevent heart disease.

Because of unique properties, onions have been used in cooking and traditional medicine in cultures worldwide for thousands of years!

Onions are toxic to cats and dogs.

Well I hope you found this interesting! See you later!
~Matt~

Ask Abbie 4/2

Hello wants again! Its Abbie here with Ask Abbie!! This weeks question comes from Libby. Here is her question.

Dear Abbie,
I'm afraid to show my sister and my doll collection to my friends because I'm scared they'll make fun of me. What should I do?
Libby

Well Libby, It sounds like you have a problem. i have never feared showing my dolls to anyone but I have dealt with peer pressure. You know, that little voice in your head that says " I wonder what they will say if they find out?'' yep I know all about it. I have found several things to be true. First, your life isn't about pleasing everyone you meet. its about being true to your self and to God. Second, if your friends can't respect what you like they must not be very good friends. I have found there to be 3 basic kinds of friends ( there may be more but these are the ones I will talk about.)

1. "Best Friends"
These are the girls that you can tell anything in the world and they will try to understand. if you have a fight, They will try to make it better. You can trust these girls and know that they will keep your secrets. And even if they don't like something you do or have (sch as your dolls) they will respect what you do and not make fun of it.

2. "Two-Faced Friends"
The title says it all. These are the girls that don't respect privacy and is contently saying things behind other backs. Do NOT tell her your secrets (and don't show her your dolls either), She WILL tell others! She will probably laugh at your stuff as well. This type of girls should be avoided if possible.

3. "Potential Friends"
Theses are the girls who you haven't spent much time with and you don't know much about them. But don't just take what others say about her. Find out for yourself. You may not want to tell her your secrets right away but as you spend more time with her you can place her in one of the other 2 categories. "Best Friends" or "Two-Faced Friends"

So Libby, it really depends on what type of friends you have if you want to show them your dolls or not. If you can trust them with your secrets then show them your dolls. If they aren't intersected then don't force it on them, but if they like them then it is just one more thing you have in common. :) If you can't trust them with your secrets don't show them. I hope this helps. :)

Weekly News 4/1

OK first off I would like to say I am sorry for posting this sooo late. So late in fact that none of you will read it one the day I post it. I think. Oh well. I don't think things have been going well for me lately. I lost my phone and Ruthie has been driving me crazy with this nonsense of "someone is out to get us."

A lot of People has finally been getting their houses fixed up. Maybe we will get some new neighbours soon!! :) I can't wait. I hope they have a girl my age.........

Did any one play a April Fools Joke? I tried but it didn't work. :( It actually backfired. I was TRYING to dump water on Ruthie (by placing a bucket of water on her door and when she would open the door the water fall on her) but I forgot about it and when to get something in her room....... and WHOOSH!!!! All over me. Now I am all wet. I better get some clean clothes on. TTYL!!!!

Verse Of The Week 3/31

Hi everyone Mellisa here! In honor of Resurrection Day here is the verses of the story.

Matthew  28:1  In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3  His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

John 20:1  The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.

4 So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.

5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

6 Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

Have A Great Day!!
~Mellisa~
