Crafts And How-To's 2/15

Hello all you people!! This is Autumn and Skylar with Crafts And How-To's! This week we are going to show you how to make a wrap Skirt.

This is what you will need:
Sharp Scissors
A pair of old pants (any kind will work, we used jeans.)
Needle and Thread or sewing machine
Tape measure or ruler
Ribbon

First you will take your pair of pants and measure 14 inches from the bottom of one legs. Cut at this mark.

Next cut up the side, along the seam.

Then cut the cuff off.

Cut in 2 parts along the other seam. Discarded one half.

Next cut 2 strips of 7 inch ribbon.

Mark where the fabric overlaps with a pin.

pin the ribbon on the spot marked with the pin.

And on the opposite side, on the edge.

Sew both ribbons.

This is what it should look like.

Overlap and tie.

This is what it will look like.

You can use the other half and make another skirt.

P.S. You may need to hem the top and sides to avoid unraveling.

We hope you have enjoyed this How-To. Comment below and tell use if you would like to see more or less pictures. Or if we could improve this in any way. Thanks.

Hiya all! Joe here with The Farming Report. Being that it is winter and we All know that plants cant grow in the winter (specially when there is a foot of snow on the ground) I have decided that we will folks on a different fruit or veggie every week. If that's OK with ya. :) So this week our fruit is Tomatoes.Oh yah tomatoes ARE a Fruit.

How to say it:
English: tomato
French: tomate
Dutch: tomaat
German: Tomate
Danish: tomat
Spanish: tomate
Italian: pomodoro

Fun Facts:
*Americans eat between 22- 24 pounds of tomatoes per person, per year. (More than half of those munchies are ketchup and tomato sauce.)

*Florida is the number one producer of fresh market tomatoes

*Fresh-market tomatoes are grown in all 50 states.

*The Tomato is a cousin of the eggplant, red pepper, ground cherry, and potato.

How many kinds? The U.S. Department of Agriculture says there are 25,000 tomato varieties.

Ask Abbie 2/12

Hello and welcome to ASK ABBIE!!! Our first Question is from Julie Castle age 12 and it is,

Dear Abbie,
If you could go one place in the world, where would it be and why?

Well Julie,
I would have to say that I would go to Paris France. The reason I would there is because of the Great food! Yes I love food. I think I would do some shopping as well.

The Weekly News 2/11

This is Josefina Wagner reporting from Dollville AGS (American Girl States) There is a lot going on here at the Community Center as the Valentine's Day Ball is just getting started. The young Lady's are dressed in their finest and our two men are having a fine time. As the clock strikes 9:00 P.M we take time to reflect on the wonderful day. Every Monday before Valentines day there is BIG Party. More like a festival. The Day starts out with a parade which winds down through town. The flouts are decorated in pinks and reds and whites. After the parade There are games in the park and a band plays. Around Lunch the local restaurant, Dolly Delights, Provides a wonderful meal. This year it was Turkey, Potatoes and Green Beans. And of course there is ALWAYS chocolate. I mean what is Valentines Day without Chocolate? All the towns people come out to celabrate, even in the Snow. And this Year we have a LOT!! After Lunch There is always lots to do. Then around 6:30 The Ball Starts. Even the children have a part in it. The Ball lasts till well past midnight, and includes Food, Dances and Music. I hear the Big Clock striking 1:00 and I see all the townfolk start to wrap up and head out in to the snow to their homes and I know that in has been a Great day.
