Craft's And How-To's 2/22

Hello Hello Hello! Today Sky and I are going to show you how to make Duck Tape Shoes. You will need:

Cardboard
Duck Tape (Any Color)
Scissors
Aluminum Foil

1. First trace your foot onto the cardboard. Both feet!!!

2. Next Cut them out.

3. Now if you don't want to see the cardboard cover one side with duck tape.

4. Now cut a strip of duck tape 4 inches long and fold in half.

5. Tape to the bottom of the shoe like this. (the color different is for example. You do Not need to do this)

6. Pull around the foot and tape down to the bottom.

7. Next cut another strip 4 inches long and fold in half but leave 1/4 inch open like this.

8. Stick the strip of duck tape around the back of the shoe.

9. tape down to the top of the shoe.

10. Now take a small piece of aluminum foil and fold it around the front of the shoe. The shoe MUST be on the foot. The aluminum foil makes the toe stronger.

11. Take a 3 inch piece of duck tape and put it over the aluminum foil and fold down. You may take the shoe off now.

12. Gently push up on the top of the shoe to give it shape.

13. Lastly place a piece of tape on the bottom of the shoe to give it a finished look.

14. Repeat on the other shoe.

If you wish to make sandals or slippers stop at step 6 and finish off with step 13.

To make a boot follow steps 1-12 then follow these steps.

13. Take a 6 inch strip of duck tape and fold as you did in step 7.

14. Tape around the top of the shoe. Tape down with a little piece of tape.

15. Lastly place a piece of tape on the bottom of the boot to give it a finished look.

16. Repeat on the other boot.

The Farming Report 2/20

Hello! Matt here with the Farming Report. This week the topic is BANANAS!!!!!! Here is some facts.

*More bananas are sold than any other fruit in the United States. Believe it or not, 96% of American households purchase bananas at least once a month.

*There is no such thing as a banana tree - they grow on plants. They are actually giant herbs in the same family as lilies, orchids, and palms.

* Bananas are unusual in that they taste best when allowed to ripen off the plant. Bananas are picked when they are still a hard green, and generally are shipped to stores when the are light green with 25-50% yellow. Most people prefer to eat their bananas when they are yellow with green tips or fully yellow. Much later, and they're still good for banana bread and shakes, but generally too ripe for individual consumption.

*So you've eaten the banana. What do you do with peel? Use it to polish leather shoes. The inside of the banana peel is actually a great leather shoe polish! The banana - good to eat, and so much more.

*Bananas, apples & watermelons float in water!

*An individual banana is called a finger. A bunch of bananas is called a hand.

*If you peel a banana from the bottom up you won't get the string things.

Well that's all from me! I hope you enjoyed! See you next week.

Ask Abbie 2/19

Hi everyone! Well come to Ask Abbie. Today's question comes from Claire M. and it is

Dear Abbie,
What is it like in Dollville? Can you tell us more about it?

Dear Claire,
Dollville is a small country town in the AGS (American Girl States). Farming is the main work, but we each have our special talents. Dollville defiantly is a small town. We have a General Store, a Restaurant, a Park and a Community Center, where the ball last week took place. The General Store has just about anything you could ever want! And it they don't have it they can get it. The restaurant has to parts, the Fast Food place called the Get-N-Go, and the fancy dinner called Dolly Delights. They make really good food. The Park is really nice as it was just stuck in. It is quite big and has 2 slides and a big swing set. It also has a sand box and a climbing wall. Then there is the Community Center, witch is in my opinion the best part. It is the gathering place of all the dolls. We have school there, and after school, which ends at lunch, there is dance, gymnastic, and even music classes. On Sunday we have church and Sunday School. We have a library in the basement on the building where I like to spend most of my time. Of course we have to houses! And every family has one. In the houses there is 2 bedrooms and a office on the top floor. on the second floor there is the kitchen and dinning room. And in the bottom floor we have the living room and the bathroom. Here is a picture of our house.

All though we moved in a LONG time ago, we still have not got all set up.

There is also a old Indian village, near Dollville.

So there is Dollville, I hope you have enjoyed this post. See you next week.

Verse Of The Week 2/17

Hi!! Its Melissa here with The Verse Of The Week!!! This weeks verse or in this case chapter is Psalms 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I really like this verse because it tells me that i need not fear. See you next week!!
