The Farming Report 8/7

Hello Joe here and this week are going to look at how we Pick Tomatoes! Now I will mention that this is pretty easy but it is a important part of the farm work so I will look at how its done. :)

 

As we approach the workers we walk up one of the many rows,

 

 

As the workers walk slowly along picking tomatoes on their row,

 

 

The row is designated to two people. One worker on each side.

 

 

The workers pic into these green crates. Here we see several large stacks.

 

 

When picking this is what we look for! :)

 

 

When we find a ripe tomato we put it in our crate.

 

 

Picking can be hard work. :) lol

 

Find,

 

 

Grab,

 

 

Pick and repeat! :)

Sometimes Odd tomatoes are found. What do these tomatoes remind you of?

 

 

When a crate in full it is set beside the row.

 

 

Where it is then picked up,

 

 

And slid into the truck.

 

 

Or handed to someone on the truck.

 

 

A job well done!
