The Farming Report 8/21

Hello to all!!!! :) Soory this is so late! I Can't believe it, another school year has started today. (Layla is in 11th grade, WOW) Anyway I hope school won't change our sceduale to much! ;) So here is this weeks How We Do It On The Farm!

(P.S. If you didn't read how we sort tomatoes from last week, this is the link.)

 

Picking Sweet corn

 

When We come to work we are greeted by the farm dog (Or mascot as we like to call her) Poco! 

 

 

We drive out to the field in the pick up.

 

And start down the rows.

 

We look for ears that look like this.

 

And put them in out crates. 26 ears to a crate.

 

Then we dump them into bed of the pick up.

Here is a side veiw of the crates.

 

This counter keeps track of how many dumps we put in the truck. One click for ever 2 doz. (So there is really 10 doz. in the truck right now. :)

When the truck is loaded someone goes to sell the corn. We will look at that next week.

Abbie Here! Here is this weeks Question!

My best friend and I have been Friends sense kindergarten. She's very nice and so is her Family. the only problem is that she's not cool! I want to change that, but I don't want to change the side of her that is nice.
Help with bud.

What's cool changes all the time, but your friendship has lasted for many years. Don't risk losing a good friend over the latest fad. if you try and change this girl, you could insult her and lose her as a friend. So let her be herself. Of course you can always talk about things you think are cool. Your friend might not have heard the latest song or seen the new style, and she might like it. But if she isn't interested, don't push it.

Good And Bad News.....

So I have some Good and Bad new (as it says in the header^^^) The Bad news is I am running on a very tight schedule right now (Go to work: 9:00 Come Home from work: 6:00-6:45 Go to revival meetings 7:30, and I have to eat supper in there too) so I was unable to go get pictures for the Weekly New. :( Postponed till next week.The good news is that my sister excepted the Lord as her Savior last night and she is going to be baptized!!!!! Happy!!!! Pray for her as she begins this new walk in life!

 

P.S. I am going to do a post on what I believe and how We practice that belief sometime soon. in case you where wondering about some things. If you have any questions please ask below so I can address them in that post! :)

Fun Day 8/17

Hi! Maria here and ARE YOU READ FOR THE NEXT PART OF THE STORY *Christina and The River Rescue*????? :) Here we Go! :)

Christina and the other girls gassed up at the huge wall of rock in front of them.

“Now what?” ask Beth

“Climb.” answered Christina as she started to climbed up the wall on edges that came out from it. When she was almost half way up the wall an icy gust of wind nearly blew her off but Christina kept going. Down below the other dolls watched her climb, they really didn’t want to go up there. Suddenly Elizabeth screamed

“Eyes! Big yellow Eyes!” Everyone turned around and suddenly the saw them too!

“Quick up the wall!” Kaya cried as she made a jump for it. Quickly everyone followed. As soon as everyone had mad it to the top they began to look around for shelter. The rain was coming down had and it was cold and windy. Christina looked around, to her left there was a slope that went down to the lake, strait in front of her and to the right was a forest, and to the left was…… a Cave!

“Quick girls, over here! Before we get to wet!” called Julie and soon all the dolls were running toward the cave. When the Dolls had settled down and Christina was almost asleep she heard Elizabeth complain “I’m cold”

“OH be quiet!” Julie snapped

“What I am!” Elizabeth cried

Christina sighed and laid her head down on her arm and looked up at the roof. She was tired but suddenly she couldn’t go to sleep. She kept thinking about how Julie had snapped at Elizabeth.

“I bet that’s how I sounded today!” she thought. “I bet everyone has off days. No!” She decided “I have to tell everyone I am sorry.” She heard the other girls snoring and the sound of rain drumming on the roof of the cave. She sighed and set up. “Maybe I will explore the cave and see how far it goes back.” She thought. So Christina got up and walking back into the cave with her hand on the wall so she would not get lost on walk into something. It was dark and she could not see much, suddenly she felt something soft and fluffy. “that’s strange” as she felt a little more. “it feels like my teddy bear. And here is the nose and….. Huh!” she gasp “I think that is A Real Bear!” Tina said a little to loud. Just then the bear turned its head and growled at her. Christina screamed and turned around to run and the bear growled again. At this Christina began to run and the bear started after her. As she was running she tripped over Beth and went face first into the dirt. Beth rolled over.

“What ARE you doing!?!” she ask

“There’s a bear chasing me! Christina panted.

“Oh don’t be silly!” scoffed Beth.

“But!” Christina started to protest but at the moment the heard the bear growl again. That woke all the dolls up.

“You weren’t kidding!” Beth cried

“Lets get out of here!” Cried Josie. At that all the dolls jumped up and ran out of the cave.

They ran down the hill with the bear right at their heels. Their reached the edge of the lake and ran along the sandbars. The waves where high and they where coming in fast as the rain pounded down on them so that they could barely see. Suddenly Josie yelled "There’s the dock! Come on!" the dolls ran out on the dock and jumped into the boat that was tied at the end. "Quick!" called Josie "Untie the boat!" but before anyone could get to the rope the bear let out a ferocious roar and swung his giant paw to hit the boat. Elizabeth shrieked and jumped back just as his paw barely missed the boat and hit the dock pillar with a crash. The pillar shattered into a hundred pieces and the boats rope that tied it to the dock was broken. With the pillar broken the dock collapsed with the wait of the bear on it and the bear fell into the water growling. The waves carried the dolls out into the lake. When all of a sudden Josie said "Do we have any ores?"

"I don't see any." said Kaya.

"OH NO!" cried Elizabeth for they where out in the middle of giant waves and pouring down rain, alone, on a lake.

Back at camp Amanda was restless. She could not go to sleep, something in the back of her mind was telling her she had left something somewhere. She rolled over.

"Amanda is that you?" ask Heather.

"Yeah, can you not sleep ether." Amanda ask

"No" said Heather

"Maybe we should play with our dolls." Amanda said sitting up. "Yeah let's, but we will have to be quiet." Said Heather. The girls crawled over to the big pile of stuff that was in the center of the girls tent.

"I thought we left the doll right here" said Amanda

"Aren't they there?" Ask Heather

"No their gone!" Gasp Amanda. The rain drummed on the roof of the tent.

"You don't think we left them out side do you?" Ask Heather. Amanda gasp "I think we did"

"OH NO said Heather rather loudly.

"Oh no what?" ask Kendra.

"We left the dolls outside!" Said Amanda. At that everyone woke up.

"We had better go find them" said Shantel, Kaya's owner.

"In our nightclothes?" Ask Lizzy

"Sure why not?" said Kendra, so the girls jumped to their feet and Shawna, Elizabeth’s owner, opened the door.

"I hope no one sees us" said Amanda as they set off.
